Khiam’s practice focuses on employment and human rights law, workplace investigations and restorative coaching and mediation.
Khiam advises employers on all workplace matters, including best practices, workplace policies, employment agreements and responses to employee concerns and misconduct. She provides employers with day-to-day advice about all aspects of the workplace, including employment standards, human rights compliance and methods of reducing risk in the workplace. While her experience ranges from small start-up companies to large institutional employers in the private sector, she works closely with Indigenous communities and is a trusted advisor to several Indigenous organizations.
Khiam is a trained and certified coach and communications facilitator. She facilitates restorative mediations to assist workplace parties to move forward following conflict in the workplace and provides executive coaching to organizational leaders.
Khiam is a skilled litigator and negotiator. She has successfully defended wrongful dismissal actions, employment standards appeals and human rights complaints at court and administrative tribunals in both the provincial and federal spheres. Khiam’s practical approach to workplace disputes is efficient and appreciated by her clients.
