Alexa Saleski Lawyer
Alexa Saleski is a lawyer at Turnpenney Milne LLP whose practice focuses on employment law and workplace investigations.
Alexa advises and represents public- and private-sector employers on employment, human rights, and workplace investigation matters. Drawing on her background as a human resources professional, she brings a practical understanding of workplace dynamics and provides strategic, business-focused advice to help clients navigate complex workplace issues.
Additionally, in her employment practice, she advises employees on wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, termination for cause, employment agreements, severance packages, and other workplace disputes. She represents clients in mediations and human rights proceedings and has experience resolving matters through alternative dispute resolution. Her exposure to mediation and strong foundation in negotiation enable her to assist clients in achieving practical and cost-effective outcomes.
Alexa has conducted and supported complex workplace investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, workplace violence, bullying, employee misconduct, and poisoned work environments. Her investigation work is informed by a trauma-informed and neutral approach.
Prior to joining Turnpenney Milne LLP as a lawyer, Alexa summered and articled with the firm, gaining experience across its practice areas and working closely with lawyers on a broad range of employment, human rights, and workplace investigation matters.
Alexa earned her Juris Doctor from Lakehead University’s Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, graduating with a Certificate in Aboriginal and Indigenous Law. During law school, she developed a strong foundation in advocacy through Lakehead’s Integrated Practice Curriculum and worked at the Lakehead Community Legal Clinic, where she represented and assisted clients in matters before the Small Claims Court and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
Alexa contributes to the profession through writing and speaking, including publishing articles for HRD Canada, participating in OBA Labour and Employment Sections’ virtual law updates and collaborating on firm-led training sessions for clients, community members and human resource professionals.
Outside of the office, Alexa enjoys hiking, camping, exploring local restaurants, trying new fitness studios, crocheting, and keeping up with the latest reality television series.
