Sreya is a trusted advisor to clients navigating employment and human rights issues. Called to the Ontario Bar in 2015, she has exclusively practiced employment law for more than 11 years. Clients value her as a dependable, responsive lawyer who provides sound, timely advice when workplace issues arise.

Sreya maintains a balanced practice supporting both employers and employees. She helps organizations build and maintain productive, inclusive and psychologically safe workplaces, while also advising individuals on their workplace rights and obligations.

As a neutral investigator, Sreya is regularly retained to conduct trauma-informed investigations through an anti-oppression lens. She has investigated complex, high-stakes cases in unionized and non-unionized environments, working with municipalities, quasi-governmental bodies, universities, colleges, school boards, hospitals, athletic associations and private sector organizations. She also provides cultural assessments and workplace restoration services, including mediation, training and coaching.

A frequent speaker, Sreya has presented at numerous conferences on topics such as unconscious bias, micro-aggressions, intersectionality, sexual violence, racial harassment, trauma-informed interviewing, chronic mental stress benefits, and managing difficult conversations in the workplace. She has also facilitated certificate programs for the Human Resources Professionals Association and Osgoode Professional Development.

Sreya brings extensive experience from the non-profit sector to her legal practice, which informs her ability to build trust and rapport with parties during investigations, restorative processes and client advisory work. She recently completed a six-year appointment as a Board Member with Indus Community Services, where she served as Chair of the Governance Committee and Board Secretary.

Sreya is a Section Executive of both the Ontario Bar Association’s Labour & Employment Section and its Constitutional, Civil Liberties & Human Rights Section. She is also a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the South Asian Bar Association, and the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF).

Fluent in Bengali with working knowledge of Hindi, Sreya brings cultural competency to her work. Outside of practice, she enjoys spending time with her spouse and young children.
