As part of our investigation practice Turnpenney Milne LLP conducts workplace audits and assessments for employers. These reviews typically arise after one, or a group of, employees has raised a generalized concern. And vary from allegations that the workplace is toxic, morale or employee engagement is low. Audits and assessments are also undertaken after receipt of anonymous complaints where little details about specific concerns are known and a respondent has not been identified.
Once retained, we work with the employer to identify the key issues for examination and an audit process is established. In many situations we are asked to provide specific recommendations after completing the audit including, for example investigating one or more specific allegations uncovered during the audit.
In our experience, workplace assessments are a very effective tool by which employers can obtain an accurate picture of what is going on in their workplace where a non-specific concern exists. Audits allows employers to be proactive, and demonstrate that they are invested in the health and wellbeing of their employees and the workplace.
