Hayley Smith

Lawyer

Hayley is a dedicated lawyer whose practice focuses on conducting workplace investigations, in complex matters including sexual and racial harassment and poisoned work environments.

Prior to joining Turnpenney Milne LLP, Hayley practiced labour and employment law at a leading management-side labour and employment firm in Toronto where she maintained a broad practice providing advice to employers in all areas of labour and employment law. She has extensive litigation experience representing clients before the Ontario Courts, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and other administrative boards and tribunals.

Prior to her career in the law, Hayley completed undergraduate degrees in History and Education at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, after which she spent time working as an educator in the United Kingdom. She later graduated from Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law and was called to the Bar in 2018.

Outside of the law, Hayley enjoys travelling, exploring Toronto, and listening to music.
