Cereise Ross

Lawyer

Cereise Ross is a dedicated lawyer with experience representing employers and employees in employment disputes. With a strong focus on employment law and workplace investigations, she excels at providing strategic solutions and advocating fiercely for her clients.

Cereise helps employers identify areas of improvement in their workplaces, develop policies and procedures to improve their environments, and offers training programs for employees and managers. Cereise also assists employers in responding to and resolving legal disputes with thoughtful negotiation, mediation and litigation strategies. She has a proven track record of achieving favourable outcomes through trials, arbitrations, and mediations.

Cereise also assists employees navigate the complicated and often daunting process of resolving disputes with their employers. Whether she offers advice on a new job offer, or on the terms of a severance package and termination, Cereise’s aim is to provide valuable and cost-effective advice.

All of Cereise’s work is equity-based (“EDI”) and trauma-informed because she understands that legal advice is most useful when it considers the unique circumstances, environments, and needs of her clients.

Prior to joining Turnpenney Milne LLP, Cereise honed her skills at a highly regarded employment law firm, articled at the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario – Treasury Board Secretariat, completed a secondment at the LCBO, and as a law student, Cereise was elected as Editor-in-Chief of the Ottawa Law Review.

In her free time, Cereise is committed to volunteering and her activities include offering legal advice through the Ottawa Probono Employment Law Clinic and Black Femme Legal Clinic, mentoring students at various chapters of the Black Law Student Association, and volunteering as a Board member of YouthLink Youth Services.
