Shannon is a strategic and creative lawyer and investigator with diverse experience. As an associate lawyer at Turnpenney Milne LLP, she practices in all areas of employment law, human rights, and conducts investigations in workplaces and educational settings.

Shannon has extensive experience with human rights and workplace issues in a wide variety of areas, in both the public and private sector.

Shannon has spent several years litigating before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, in her role as bilingual staff lawyer at the Human Rights Legal Support Centre. In this role, Shannon frequently dealt with issues that included systemic discrimination, antisemitism, family status accommodation, disability accommodation, the duty to investigate, creed-based rights, anti-Black racism, and sexual harassment.

Throughout her career, Shannon has regularly taught and trained law students, by mentoring interns and as review counsel at Osgoode Hall Law School’s legal clinic. In addition to litigation, Shannon has acted as a human rights investigator and consultant at the municipal government, advising managers and employees on human rights, equity, and occupational health and safety issues, in addition to policy review and training.

In addition to practicing law, Shannon also spends her time volunteering for organizations and projects that involve human rights, equity, and inclusion. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for Youthdale, which is a Toronto based mental healthcare agency dedicated to helping children, youth, young adults, and their families.

Shannon also coached Osgoode Hall Law School’s law students at the Julius Alexander Isaac Moot that took place in February 2023 and 2024. This moot required the law students to analyze and debate issues involving critical race theory and diversity.
