Emily Sheppard is a zealous advocate committed to providing strategic advice on workplace law to both employers and employees. With a combined Juris Doctor and Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, Emily brings a unique, client-centred and trauma-informed approach to the law. Before joining Turnpenney Milne LLP, Emily summered and articled at a leading management-side labour and employment law boutique, where she gained expertise providing business-minded advice to both private and public sector clients on a broad range of labour and employment law issues.
During her time in law school, Emily developed an aptitude for representing employees as a caseworker at both Downtown Legal Services and Advocates for Injured Workers.
In her free time, Emily is a passionate painter and fibre artist, holding a Certificate of Art and Design from OCAD Continuing Studies. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Emily enjoys backpacking, hiking, and fostering animals — currently through Toronto Cat Rescue.
