Jeff is a Toronto-based employment lawyer and workplace investigator. Responsive and service-oriented, Jeff provides timely representation and advice to employees and employers on a wide range of workplace issues including: discipline and termination of employment; severance package negotiations; violence, harassment, and discrimination complaints; workplace policies; drafting and reviewing employment contracts; employment standards compliance; and human rights accommodation inquiries.
Prior to joining Turnpenney Milne LLP, Jeff practiced as an associate at a national labour and employment boutique in Toronto, in-house labour and employment law counsel for a large public sector organization, and counsel for a leading full-service firm. Through these varied experiences, Jeff has adopted a pragmatic and progressive approach to employment law, often recommending client-focused solutions that mitigate risk and avoid litigation. However, when litigation is necessary, Jeff draws on his experience successfully representing clients before all levels of court in Ontario, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
Jeff earned his JD from Osgoode Hall Law School (2013), holds an MA in political science from Carleton University (2008), and graduated with a BA (Hons.) in political science from the University of Western Ontario (2006). He was called to the Ontario bar in 2014.
Outside of work, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, cooking, cheering on the Leafs and Jays, singing karaoke, and searching for great taco destinations.
