Ozlem Yucel advises and represents employees and employers in all areas of employment law, including:
• terminations and severance packages,
• wrongful and constructive dismissals,
• dismissals for just cause,
• bullying and harassment,
• human rights and discrimination,
• employment standards and Ministry of Labour cases,
• employment contract review and drafting,
• workplace investigations,
• non-solicitation and non-competition clauses, and
• occupational health and safety matters.
Ozlem has litigated on her clients’ behalf at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Appeal, Ministry of Labour, Ontario Labour Relations Board, and Small Claims Court. She also assists clients secure meaningful settlement resolutions.
Ozlem has been a speaker at a number of conferences and training workshops, including at the Human Resources Professional Association, and her employment law articles have been published by the Canadian HR Reporter, the Ontario Bar Association, and Condo Business Magazine.
Prior to joining Turnpenney Milne LLP, Ozlem practiced at a pre-eminent employment law firm and articled at the Ministry of Labour and the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
Ozlem obtained her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree (in International Relations and Political Science) from the University of Toronto, where she graduated with distinction.
Ozlem sits on the Executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Labour and Employment Law Section, as well as the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section.
Ozlem also has a background working at the United Nations Development Program and the G8/G20 Summits.
In her spare time, Ozlem loves travelling, learning new languages, and playing the violin. She is fluent in Turkish.
