Sreya Roy

Since being called to the Ontario Bar in 2015, Sreya has dedicated her practice exclusively to employment law. In her practice, she helps organizations create and maintain productive, inclusive, psychologically safe workplaces.

As a neutral investigator, Sreya conducts balanced, trauma-informed investigations using an anti-oppression lens for public, private and the nonprofit organizations. She investigates complex cases in unionized and nonunionized environments for quasi-governmental organizations, municipalities, universities, colleges, school boards, hospitals, athletic clubs, and various private sector organizations. Sreya also conducts cultural assessments and workplace restoration services, such as, training and coaching.

Sreya is frequently invited as a speaker to present on various conferences on topics, such as, unconscious bias, micro-aggressions, investigations, conducting trauma-informed interviews, intersectionality, sexual violence, racial harassment, and having difficult conversations in the workplace. She had facilitated certificate programs for the HRPA and Osgoode Professional Development.

Recently, Sreya completed her six-year appointment as a Board Member for Indus Community Services, an organization dedicated to providing culturally appropriate services to seniors and new-commers. During her term, she acted as a Chair of the Governance Committee and as a Board Secretary.

Prior to her legal career, Sreya extensively worked with marginalized communities, including assisting organizations supporting survivors of sexual violence and trafficked individuals.

In her spare time, Sreya loves spending time with her husband and children, most of which consists of running after her two little ones.

Sreya is fluent in Bengali and has a working knowledge of Hindi.
