Turnpenney Milne LLP acts as a third party facilitator and mediator in a variety of workplaces. In most cases when engaged in this role, either long-standing or ongoing employee conflict exists. These conflicts may be impacting not just those involved in the dispute, but a larger group of employees who are colleagues of those in conflict. Left untended, this kind of discord can lead to employee morale problems, or claims of bullying, harassment, or even constructive dismissal. Early facilitation can circumvent that eventuality and provide an important tool for conflict resolution.
As facilitators we engage in individual sessions with each employee and then bring employees together for a mediated conversation, with an eye to having them design an agreement such as terms of engagement or behavioral commitments on a go-forward basis. Following the facilitation, additional sessions are often scheduled, if needed, and we provide recommendations to assist the parties in continuing to restore their working relationship.
