Turnpenney Milne Congratulates New Partner Esi Codjoe

Turnpenney Milne is pleased to announce that Esi Codjoe has joined the firm’s partnership.

Esi Codjoe is a pragmatic and solutions focused practitioner. She provides legal advice to employers and employees, in both non-unionized and unionized workplaces. Esi understands the unique human resources challenges faced by workplace parties in both the private and public sector.

Workplace disputes can be complex and stressful. Esi provides guidance on employment and human rights disputes, and she seeks to understand her clients’ needs, and provide custom solutions to their problems.

Esi also conducts workplace investigations and reviews in the private and public sector, for both small and large employers.

Esi has extensive experience in training, coaching, and facilitations including in the areas of equity diversity and inclusion (“EDI”). She is a frequent speaker at conferences such as Lancaster House and the Ontario Bar Association. Esi has a particular interest in coaching employees to resolve interpersonal workplace conflicts, and mediating workplace disputes. Esi has also taught employment law and labour relations at George Brown College and Ryerson University. She is an experienced adjudicator and mediator, and a former Vice Chair at the Human Rights Tribunal Ontario.

In 2018 Esi was named as one of Canadian Lawyer Magazine’s Top 25 lawyers, in 2019 Lexpert named her as a Change Agent in Law, and in 2020 the Ontario Bar Association awarded her the Joel Kuchar Award for Professionalism and Civility.
